Wedding Dress | How To Find The Perfect One

You found your prince charming and have the sparkle to prove it! With so many decisions up ahead, the most fun choice by far, is selecting the dress. There are so many things to consider [A-Line, princess poof, slim, train, fitted, necklines, etc...], but the key is balance. Balance between both having a structured vision, and being open to styles you wouldn't normally choose. There are also some other points to keep in mind as you plan your special day!

Shopping for your wedding dress is SO much more than just a dressing room, but a memorable experience you will tuck away for a lifetime. For this, you should select a location that peaks your interests. For some, it may be a well known shop in the heart of a bustling city, and for others, it may be a quiet little place close to home. Wherever you decide to go, it should create a build of excitement. For this occasion, our bride chose BHLDN in the Galleria Shopping District of Houston.
Upon arrival, brides are treated with the utmost level of specialty service, which is the standard for all of your boutique shops. A pre-pull is executed via email prior to a bride's appointment. This allows one to see and try so many more options in the absence of idle time. Not to mention, the associate assigned to each group is very polished and well put together. Our bridal expert dawned a velvet dress, nude Valentino Rock Studded flats and served with the highest level of professionalism. She was kind and displayed a seasoned knowledge base, that allowed our bride to be confident in her choice.

Most brides have a general idea of what their perfect wedding dress will look like, but sometimes, you end on a dress you wouldn't have necessarily chosen. The best thing to keep is an open mind, because you may be surprised with a wild card. On the other hand, you may also go home with exactly the dress you imagined, and in that case, you can be fully confident in your choice because you tried everything. Being open can only serve you well, so don't hesitate trying something outside your comfort zone.

It's important to have a good solid base behind you, as you figure out what you want. It is important to know your people will be supportive and build your confidence in this big decision. It's helpful to have all generations represented. A grandmother will offer wise advice and challenge you toward a timeless classic. A sister and friends may sway you in a new and fresh direction, while mom helps temper the two and keeps you true to yourself. But in the end, it ultimately comes down to the bride's feeling in the dress. That is obviously noted by her excited burst of girly spew as she exits the dressing suite.

Just because your appointment is over, doesn't mean the day is done. Selecting the perfect dress can really take a lot out of a group, so it's important to find a swanky little spot to refuel and go over the details. Our girl's day concluded at The Black Walnut Cafe, in the Rice Village area of Houston. It's a delicious spot that sets the perfect scene for girl talk and yummies. Of course lunch isn't necessary, however, this goes back to creating that memory that you will hold for years to come. It's such a beautiful time in life, so why not linger a little longer with each other?
