Week 2 - One Room Challenge
Updated: Nov 8, 2018
We have already reached the 2 week update marker for the One Room Challenge, and I have been an absolute painting machine this past week. I had in mind a colorful abstract feature wall and it grew into a feature corner - 2 walls. A lot of Painter's tape and caulk later, and I have completed the bulk of what my finished wall will look like. All to say, I'm finished with the exception of minor detailing. This is what my project room looked like before...
This process has been slow and steady, making sure the colors are balanced and not too weighty in any given spot. And to be completely honest, I will probably be tweaking this wall until the big reveal on November 8th.
Painting was very much a fun creative process, and spending special time with my little guy was eventful. Ultimately he had a sweet and helpful heart, but with that came tiny painted fingers. I will admit, he dipped his hand in paint at least 5 times, but look how cute of an artist he is!!
The red locker cabinets are already maxed out with toys, and I slid it in place because I couldn't wait to see the pop of color against the wall!! I am chomping at the bit for the rest of my boxes to start rolling in next week, however, I did get a fun box from the Color Cord Company - eek!! Check out my Instagram story to see the fun cord colors I selected for the lights!! Also, because Im awful at keeping secrets, I will be sharing snaps of pieces on my social platforms as they come in, so tay tuned!
Tomorrow we begin framing for the rockwall that will allow the boys to enter their sleeping area, but also leads to another crawl space...a lofted playroom over their bedroom. It's really an exciting room I've got here and working with Joanna Edgeworth at Acadian Dream Homes is - A DREAM! Below you can see where I have taped off where the rock wall will be laid out. That process begins tomorrow!!

That about wraps it up for me, so in the meantime, here is a link to the blog party to check out all the other rooms underway!! Here is a link to check out what the featured designers are up to! If you missed last week, then here is a little recap.
RECAP
The one Room challenge is a 6 week room makeover challenge for designers and bloggers nationwide. There are 2 sides to this coin. One side being the 20 selected designers competing for the win. On the other side of that same coin, there are guest participants like myself. At the end of the 6 weeks, the editors of Better Homes & Gardens will select 2 guest participants to be FEATURED DESIGNERS in the 2019 Spring ORC challenge!
